There are so many exciting things happening this month at the library, there is sure to be something to inspire you, enrich your life or teach you something new.

There’s an app for that!  Oh yes, the library has an app. Even if you already use it to manage your account or check out when you visit the library, you will be pleased to know you can now get notifications about reserved items ready for pick up,  almost due and overdue items, upcoming closings and other time-sensitive information.  Download it to get started.

Our Older Wiser Learners will enjoy expanded programs thanks to our partnership with Oak Spring Garden Foundation.  Each month a new program will be featured at one of our locations.  In October, participants will experiment with different plant fibers - how they are made and how to weave and create with them.  Meet the educators from Oak Spring at the Warrenton central library, Tuesday, October 20. Register online or call 540-422-8500 x2.

The Sundays @ 2 series continues October 4.  Under Secretary for Science and Research at the Smithsonian Institution and former NASA Chief Scientist Ellen Stofan will discuss life on Mars, the Cassini Mission, the Air and Space Museum and her leadership role at the Smithsonian.

For the youngest members of the community, we are honoring Hispanic Heritage month with a book list rich with possibilities and our annual Halloween Hoopla celebration.  School-age children and tweens can have hands-on learning fun with interactive STEM activities at Discovery Tables monthly at the Warrenton and Bealeton libraries.

See you soon, at the library!

Dawn Sowers,

Director, Fauquier Public Library
