I turned on a lamp the other day and looked at the clock.  Dusk had come earlier than the week before.

November for some (me, included) is a welcome respite from the great goings on of summer.  Light the fire, draw the curtains, open a book and settle down for a long read.  A perfect opportunity to indulge in something for pure pleasure like a historical saga, cozy fantasy, or passionate romances.

The changing season encourages indoor activities.

Using seasonal bounty, the Oak Spring Garden Foundation staff will show young folks how to craft a bird feeder using gourds and seeds.  Tea is the topic for older wiser learners, when the foundation staff shares instructions for assembling a special blend of tea and making a teacup planter.

Board games, STEAM for Tweens, and a picture books puzzle promise indoor fun.

And, as November fades away, holidays loom large.

For some old hands, hosting twenty is easy peasy.  For novices, the prospect could be overwhelming.  We’ve invited the experienced hostess Ginger Hilleary to share tips, tricks and hacks to make holiday entertaining stress free.

The year end brings the library’s annual report card.

Survey results are in.  High marks for materials and services and lots of comments and questions.   Our first crack at providing answers can be found in this newsletter.

And, a reminder.  No need to wait until year end to give us your thoughts or suggestions.  Our mailbox is open all year long.  We’re glad to hear from you—it helps serve you better.
