About the event
Families of children in grades K and above are invited to step into the exotic world of bats with Jerry Schneider, “The Butterfly Guy”. Learn how vital bats are for maintaining a healthy environment. Move beyond old stereotypes to an understanding of the importance of bats for farmers, fruit growers, the rain forest, and us. Learn about echolocation, hibernation and migration. Then, head outdoors to craft a t-shirt using fabric paint and bat cut-outs. Heavy cotton Gildan tee shirts will be available for $5.00, or children may bring their own; John Marshall branch library, 4133 Rectortown Rd.; 540.422.8500 x6.
